Here's another good program from Texas Cooperative Extension!
Do you want to begin a child care career? Here's a way to meet requirements from the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services (TDPRS) and get started!
Adults who want to enter the child care field are required by the State of Texas to first complete eight hours of training in topics such as health and safety, child development, appropriate activities for children, and provider expectations.
The Preservice Training for Child Care Workers manual and kit were developed by Texas Cooperative Extension. This program has been recognized for the eight hours of training required by TDPRS.
If you're ready to get started in the field of child care and want more information, contact your county Extension FCS agent, Patricia Anderson Rasor, at (830) 620-3440 or go to the FCS state website at http://fcs.tamu.edu/ptccw/ccpp.htm. Your agent will help you learn more about this program and how you can borrow the self-study Preservice Training for Child Care Workers manual and kit.
