The 2008 Equine Extravaganza hosted by the Henderson County Horse Committee will take place on October 8 at the Henderson County Fairpark Complex near Athens, TX.

The event will begin at 5PM with educational exhibits on equine breeds and other subjects followed by a meal and then the Parade of Breeds.

The Parade of Breeds will consist of short presentations by each of the breeds represented. These demonstrations will highlight the various talents of the breed.

Breeds who have already indicated that they will be participating are Rocky Mountain Horse, Bashkir Curly, McCurdy Plantation, MO Foxtrotter, Arabian, Tennessee Walking Horse, Racking Horse, American Quarter Horse. More breeds are signing up as we progress with planning.

This will be the premier equine event of the season for Henderson and the surrounding counties.

There will be door prizes awarded and the recipient of the annual Henderson County Horse Committee book donation will be announced and a representative presented with $500 worth of equine educational books.
