2002 Schedule of Events


Entries will be collected by 4-H Club managers and Ag. Science Teachers and submitted as a group to as high a degree as possible. Entries must be submitted by November 14 (6-8pm) at the Complex.

Saturday, January 6, 2002

10:00 a.m. - Horse Show check-in

10:30 a.m. - Horse show judging of entries


Wednesday, January 9, 2002

7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. - Check-in of all home ecomonics entries

10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. - Home economics entries judged
(not open to public)


12:00 noon - 8:00 p.m. - Arrival of livestock entries

5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. - Country Store open for cash sales of baked foods only

5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. - Release of all baked goods except Grand & Reserve Champion entries

5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. - Weigh/classify rabbits

5:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. - Weigh/Classify market sheep and goats, swine

Thursday, January 10, 2002

8:00 a.m. - Home economics division open for public viewing

10:00 a.m. - Rabbit judging in this order: meat pens, fryers, breeding

5:00 p.m. - Judging in this order: Angora goats, breeding sheep, market lambs

6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. - Poultry arrival and check in

Friday, January 11, 2002

8:00 a.m. - Judging in this order: Broilers, roasters, turkeys

10:00 a.m. - Goat judging in this order: dairy, commercial, market

10:00 a.m. - Cattle must be in barn and checked in with Superintendent

7:00 p.m. - Swine judging in this order: breeding, market

Immediately following Swine show - Exhibitors of winning Home Economics AND livestock items must designate their sale item in writing. If no designation is made, the sales committee will make the decision.

NOTICE: No Floor Sales in 2002

Exhibitors who still have Beef entries may make these designations conditional upon outcome of the beef show.

Saturday, January 12, 2002

8:00 a.m. - Judge Commercial steers, breeding heifers, scramble heifers, market steers in this order.

10:30 a.m. - All items including freshly baked goods should be placed on auction exhibit table.

10:30 a.m. - Release of home economics entries

10:30 - Release of livestock except auction items

11:00 a.m. - Pee Wee Goat Show

1:00 p.m. - Registration/check-in Plant Identification teams for 1:30 contest

6:30 p.m. - Announcements and Special CCYF Awards

7:00 p.m. - Premium Auction Sale - immediately following auction all items are released.

Thanks to the many volunteers, businesses, parents and professional staff who help make the Coryell County Youth Fair a SUCCESS. We salute EVERY 4-H and FFA Member for their hard work and efforts! They are all BLUE RIBBON KIDS of which our county should be proud!
